Why UKIP?

THE ESTABLISHMENT PARTIES ARE LOSING ELECTIONS TO UKIP – that’s why they are now reluctantly talking about the issues that you care about, like immigration and the EU – don’t let them go back to their old habits

UKIP IS POPULAR – because our party is made up of and supported by normal people who are simply sick and tired of their genuine concerns not being addressed by the “old” parties

The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) is continually advancing. We gained nearly 4 million votes nationally, in the 2015 General Election, a 12.6% share of the total vote and an increase of 9.5% since 2010. Nationally, we won first place at the 2014 European elections, our best performance ever, with 24 MEPs elected. This victory marked the first time in modern history that neither Labour nor the Conservatives have won a British national election. Across the Bath & North East Somerset counting area, UKIP achieved a close second place. UKIP now has elected AMs in the Welsh Assembly and we are gaining an ever greater share of seats on local councils. Never under-estimate what UKIP has achieved thanks to grassroots support all over the country

For many years UKIP has been instrumental in campaigning to leave the European Union. Locally, our Branch played an active part in this campaign. We took part in the “Vote Leave” and “Grassroots Out” campaigns in the early part of 2016 which came to a most successful conclusion on 23rd June 2016 when 51.9% of the country voted to leave (a turnout of 72.2%) which included 44,352 “leave” voters in Bath & North East Somerset.

There would never have been a referendum on our EU membership had it not been for UKIP and without us Great Britain would now be well on the road towards an ever closer European Union.
